I just completed P90X day three which was for Shoulders & Arms and Ab Ripper X. What would you log that as in the Exercise Log? I don't have a Heart Rate Monitor just yet and I want to log it as close as possible to what it's supposed to be.

It is a drag, but I usually take my heart rate periodically during the workout. I use an online stopwatch. Then I enter it into this calculator, along with height and weight and vo2 max (which I estimate based on max and resting heart rate...you can find this online). Here is the calculator:

THEN I can "add exercise." You really only have to do it once for each new exercise. I burn about 250 for Shoulders and Arms, and like 90 for Ab Ripper...but I am 115 and five feet!
I find the best burn comes from the strength sessions that are faster-paced, like Chest, Shoulders, Tri and Back and Biceps--for me, more than 300. Hope that helps.
  • I'm 5' 8" and about 185lbs. Since I'm already done the exercise any ideas on what to put it under?
