Don't know if I'm doing bad or good?

So, about 2 weeks ago I was getting frustrated because it seemed like my weight was just stalling and bouncing back and forth between 2 numbers. Well, since then I have lost 6.4 lbs. I lost 3.8 lbs the first week and 2.6 this last week. I want to think it's a good thing, but I'm also worried that it could be too much? I'm not getting all of my calories each day (especially on days I workout) because I'm usually just not that hungry or don't have a lot of time. I feel like I am getting stronger and like I can feel my muscles more. I just don't want to be losing from the wrong place you know. Do you think it's just because I'm not getting in all my calories each day, or that I'm losing muscle too?

You're probably not losing muscle unless you're doing several hours of high (very high) intensity cardio every day. Don't stress, just keep an eye on the next week! :flowerforyou:

I chart my weekly progress and I can have weeks where the scale won't move much, then it just drops off for a few weeks, then is normal with a pound or so loss for a few weeks, then back to nothing . . . your weight will fluctuate a lot so don't be worried about week to week. Keep doing what you are doing and just ride it out until you have 3 weeks where you don't lose anything, then it may be time to evaluate and see if you need to tweak something.

Recently I went a week where I "gained" 2.4 pounds and then I lost 3.8 the next week. Perhaps those two weeks that you "fluctuated" were due to water retention(too much sodium perhaps?) or inconsistency in weighing yourself( time of day, bowel movement, amount of clothing". Since you had a dramatic drop in the next two weeks after that it could be attributed to one of those factors.

I do that too, have a few weeks that I am basically stagnant and then I'll drop a few lbs in a few days and then get stuck for a little bit, then drop again. I have started noticing fluctuations just based on water and sodium intake.

Thanks everyone. I've been working really hard, and I'm just so afraid of doing something wrong and not making progress/making the wrong kind of progress. That's really helpful though. Hopefully this will also help keep me from getting worried or sad if I go through a short period with no loss. I guess I need to pay more attention to the bigger picture.
