Lactic Acid BURNS!!!

This is the first time in years I have felt that lactic acid burn during a workout on a machine for quads, I only did 3 sets of ten reps with 3 lbs, BUT IT BURNED LIKE HELL! Does that mean I am doing it right? Should I always exercise to the point of burning? And afterward my throat was burning, and I read that some people that haven't been active that finally begin will get that, ever heard of that?

What do you mean by "quad machine"? You mean leg extentions by any chance?
Burn on 3lb??? Were those single leg extentions? Or you coming back from injury? It's just that that is extremely light for leg weights.0 -
I am so out of shape. I think you're right. I don't know my way around the gym at all. Three lbs isn't much, I wonder if I am injured.0
