Week 1...check!

Hey everybody....I have held off posting anything until now. I wanted to get accustomed to everything here and just feel it out for the first week. So here it is....I have always struggled with my weight and have started this journey several times. I have done low carb, low calorie, South Beach, Weight Watchers, etc. I feel like I have done it all, but yet every time I stop whatever program it is I start to creep up on the scale again. So this time I started the journey again, but now I have a partner in it all, my amazing boyfriend! We started MFP together a week ago. I have a goal of losing a total of about 40 lbs. This first week I lost two pounds. Of course was hoping for more for the first week, but I had a friend in town and had obstacles put in front of me. When those obstacles were put in front of me, I really tried my best to make decisions that were better then I would have normally made if I wasn't being conscious of what I was eating. I think that has been the thing I have remembered the most this week....controlling your weight has everything to do with being conscious of what you are putting in your mouth. Making educated decisions on what to eat and why you are eating, instead of just haphazardly putting food in your mouth.
Well I will stop rambling now, but just wanted to introduce myself and share my first weeks successes and obstacles. Thanks for the support!

Hi! Great job on losing 2 lbs! I totally agree with you... losing weight (for me at least) definitely means being conscious of what you put in your mouth! I know since I started MFP and began logging everything I eat every day, I pay a lot more attention to what I eat! However, I find that I am still able to eat what I want sometimes and so far haven't felt deprived of good food. I have found a lot of healthy stuff that I really like and look for new things to try. Congrats on your good start. Some weeks you'll lose 2 pounds, some weeks you might not lose as much. Just do what you are doing, and exercise, make the right choices in what you eat, etc. It is really great that you have a supportive boyfriend doing it along with you.0
