I almost blew it off. I've been watching less and less TV. The girl riding her mom's bike 350 miles home made my eyeballs sweat a little. What a transformation. Good show.

indeed! and the fact she was close to same weight i was when i first started losing (a couple of months before joining mfp) made her good for me to relate to.
    love that show.

I was surprised at how much I like this show. After Jillian Michael's (shall we say brusque) approach, I was pleased to see how caring these trainers are. They are encouraging, motivating, and positive while still taking a "no excuses" approach. I would like to see more of the nutrition guidance and meals, but overall I've enjoyed this show.

A similar topic... I happened to catch Heavily Ever After on TLC last night. I don't know how long it's been airing as I happened to catch it while channel surfing. The episode I saw was the husband (I think he said he topped at 1000 lbs and had lost 300) agreeing to try and make it up the stairs of their split level home so he and his wife could host a dinner party. While my heart went out to his feelings of frustration and defeat, it was disappointing that the show does not focus on diet, exercise, or lifestyle changes. In fact, his wife was making his favorite meal, lasagna, to celebrate his making it upstairs. The amount of cheese was staggering. While I don't think they should, or even could, eat like birds, I do wish the show would focus on the diet/exercise/lifestyle change needed. Maybe other episodes did/will. Did anyone else catch it?

I love this show. If you want a good example of weight loss this is the show, not biggest loser.

heavy isn't a competition, but out right people saving and changing their lives. Some succeed beyond all expectations some struggle and they addressed loose skin, addiction, food shopping, and the emotional reasons behind what the people do.

it's just a good show and shows that there is hope and that it is ok to struggle as long as you don't stop.
