Does anyone have any suggestions for effective ways to lose belly fat?
I have looked up exercises on the internet, but a lot of them vary.
Can someone help me please?

Unfortunately, there is no efective 'spot reducing' plan. The only way to lose belly fat is to lose fat in general.0

Eat less, excercise more. No magic cures I'm afraid!
Strengthening your core is good for your posture though so will probably help you feel better round the middle.0 -

I was going to say that!0 -
Unfortunatly, you can not spot reduce fat. Its all all or nothing sort of deal. Meaning when we lose weight, it comes off where it comes off. If you do Abdominal exercises all you are doing is building muscle underneath or making it firmer if you are in a calorie deficit. All this will accomplish is making your belly look larger. But there nothing wrong with building muscles.
The only thing you can do is stick to a good diet, cardio and weight training to lose fat all over. Since thats all our bodies can do anyways.0 -
I have started to build a website and the first page I completed was all about this issue. I wrote about cortisol which is what makes your belly fat. Like everyone else has said you can't reduce fat in one area but there are things you can do to try and speed up the process.
Sleep is one of them, are you getting a good nights sleep ? example bed by 10:30PM. You should be aiming to get to bed by 11PM at the latest. Take magnesium and zinc suppliments or eat foods high in magnesium and zinc, drink lots of clean natural drinking water.
It also goes without saying that eating healthy and exercising regularly will make a big difference.
I am in the same situation as you at the moment as having lost over 100lbs I have only got the belly fat left to lose, mine is going slowly but surely I am now down to a size 41in belly and 39in waist and I can fit into size 36in trousers. But I still have about another 14lbs to lose so it will all go eventually.
People always want super fast results but sometimes it does take time.
Hope this helps0 -

Doing exercise to strengthen your core muscles (abs and lower back) is not going to make you look larger. In fact, as you tighten up those muscles you may lose some inches around your waistline.
It's difficult to bulk up ANY muscle, especially if you are in a calorie deficit (as you would be in losing weight). You're not going to bulk up your abs and lower back enough to actually look thicker in the middle by doing some walking, running, abdominal crunches, etc.0
