Excitable insomniac musician...

Me in three words I suppose?

I'm a working musician, play in four bands, and my sorta-day-job is in the music industry. That means I've got late nights almost every night. I see the sun less than vampires on television these days. That alone is part of the struggle -- coming home from a gig at 2am to unload a ton of gear and deciding whether or not to eat before bed because I haven't been able to for the last six hours... being offered free, greasy bar food at shows every time I play... The inevitable cocktail or two during the set. GAH! So frustrating.

So... anyone else out here in the music industry? Or work in bars/nightlife? I bet we'd have a lot of similar struggles in that regard...

Anyway, hi. I've been using the APP on my phone for a while but decided to say hello to the community tonight. So hello!

I can understand your problem to a point. I don't work in a bar but my dad use to be a musician and remember his life style. I work 12 hours a night from 6pm to 615am so yeah I sleep in a coffin but still love garlic

Retired to a quiet life of anonymity now , but there are whole tours that I was too drunk too remember. I also have vague memories of eating things not meant for human consumption.

my boyfriends sister, nikki is in several bands in new york. she doesn't eat or sleep normal either, she got herself a crock pot and makes soups from beans and lentils and takes them in a thermos to her gigs. she says vodka is lower in calories than the others so if she drinks she drinks that.

Good advice... I'd love to have a crock pot. I should look into that...
