Thyroid Ablation and Weight Loss

Hello All,
I've been working out for about two months and just found this website a few weeks ago. My issue is this - I had a thyroid ablation in October and since my thryoid is not working it's very hard to lose any weight. So far, I've lost just 5 LBS and I need to keep motivated. I am currently NOT on any thyroid meds to regulate it and make my body think I have a working thyroid.

Has anyone else had a thyroid ablation and if so, how have you been able to lose weight?

Thanks for the help.

I had my thyroid completely removed about 5 months ago. I'm still working on regulating my medication, so I'm still acting like I'm hypothyroid. Basically, I'm still low on energy, making working out really difficult (but hopefully I'm getting back on track), and my weight loss has been completely stalled since the surgery. If I wasn't trying to lose, I'm pretty sure I'd be gaining. Keep that in mind. Even if the weight isn't coming off, exercise will still help your strength and stamina, so don't give up.
