Problem, Need help on good running shoe!

I have been using Sketchers biker shoes to run in because they do not hurt my feet. I know they do not give me the support I need, but the first time I put them on to run in they made a huge difference for me. But now I think maybe I am ready for real running shoes. Do you have an idea on a good pair? I have a little wide foot on the outside and the reason I like the biker shoe is they have an elastic across inside were the tounge is and that didn't hurt the top of my foot and they had the stretchy velcro so they were never too tight or too loose. Bumps and stuff (seems) inside the shoe are very uncomfortable for me and can't have a high back to rub on the back of my ankle. I think my ancle is low compared to most because that is a big problem for me, hitting the back of the ankle. I am in the market for a new pair and would love some suggestions from people who may have a similar problem finding a good shoe (without paying a small fortune).
Any help is appreciated!

The good news and the bad news....if you are going to continue to run you need to invest in a good running shoe. Find a specialty shoe store and get fitted properly - it will make all the difference in your running and will protect your knees, back, joints, etc. When you explain to them your situation like you did in this post, they will know exactly what to offer you. Most places are very cool about returning shoes that don't feel good too. They understand the importance not like a chain store. Bad shoes will put an end to your running very quickly. Expect to pay close to or at least $100 for a pair though - that is the bad news. They should last you 200-300 miles. There is no best shoe - the best one is the one that fits your foot. Good Luck!0 -
I would recommend going to a store that specializes in running. They will evaluate your gait & then help you choose the right shoe for you.
Your shoes are the most important piece of running equipment (that & a good sports bra ) so make sure you get a good pair. :flowerforyou:0 -
