Sadly, on July 13th, my hubby is leaving for the Marines Bootcamp. He will be gone for 13 weeks! Im really really sad about it, we wont be able to even talk on the phone, letters only for the 3 solid months until his graduation in mid October. Im mostly sad because not only will I miss him to death, we've never been apart for more than a few days in the last four years, but his daughter just turned 5 months old and im so sad (and so is he) when we realize how much of her growing he is going to miss. SO ive decided to turn my thinking more positively, and take the next 13 weeks AND REALLY GET MY BUTT IN GEAR! That way when I see him for the 1st time in 3 months ill be smokin hott! I dont have alot of time for hours of working out at the gym, between 50 hrs/wk of work and being a mommy to my daughter, so I was thinking about getting at home work out vidoes for after she goes to bed, or to do early in the morning before she wakes. What works? Whats good? and what is a practical weight loss goal for 13 weeks? anyone?

Semper Fi, my hubby was a marine and it is really hard to be apart, but it will be an experience the two of you will never regret. Good luck with the weight loss and congrats on the baby!0

I hear you! My husband is an electrician apprentice and he is gone to school for 2 months in the fall. I'll miss him so much! My plan is the same as yours, work my butt off for 2 straight months and look great when he comes back! Let me know how it goes!0

I'm partial to Pilates/Yoga. It really transforms your body. I would of never thought i would be a size 1 when I started this and I really think it's because I did pilates. I've NEVER been that size before even when I lost weight in the past. So try it out.

Put the baby in a stroller and run! Lots of fun for you both!

Oh, I thought I was going to lose it when my husband was away for 2 weeks! Good luck to you. I think it will help you that you have a goal. I agree with putting the baby in a stroller and going, not only are you getting a workout, but it's good for her to be outside and it's time with mommy. I can't believe you'd have any energy to get up early to work out or work out after she's asleep, unless she's a good sleeper. More power to you!0

Before you go out and spend a lot of money on videos that you may or may not like. Go to your public library and rent a few, you would be surprised at just how many they tend to acquire!0

If you follow the eating plan on this site, and make an effort to go on a one hour walk per day with you daugher at a decent stride, you can definitely lose 1-2 pounds per week. That is a realistic and healthy goal! Do the videos, or I have On Demand, I don't even know if that makes sense to you, but it's provided through my cable. And they have a fitness channel you can access any time, any day. Good Luck!0

It's good to have a plan and I think going to the library and trying some videos is great too but be flexible, if you can't get to the video get out and at least get a walk in. I lost most of mine through walking but you need the videos for toning for sure. I still have a lot of toning to do. Be sure not to overdo at first or you won't want to keep doing it. I think it's great you want to get in shape for him. good luck!0
