Here I am with another motivational post I decided to make based on different factors, some apply of me, some apply of others. Basically, if you're struggling to keep motivated, you should make a list with the Whys you should and you shouldn't workout. It is actually really easy to do, you just have to take everything in consideration. It is kind of finding the excuses to workout and get in shape and the excuses to not workout, that way you really don't have to think of them everyday, but instead you'll have them written down, and when you're feeling down, or without the desire to stick to your diet and workout, you can read not give up. The one piece of advice I'll give you is, BE HONEST. There's no point you have to lie to yourself, remember this list will be like a diary, for your eyes only, and if you're 100% honest, you'll have a reminder of why you've made the decision to change your life.
The list will consist of two columns divided by a line. In one side you'll number all the Why I Should Workout, and review all your life to find reasons for it. Examples, do it for yourself, do it for your health in general or specific health issues, do it for past experiences with people who made you feel bad, do it for the love of your life, or your kids, or your family or all of them together, do it because you want to show the world you have the will and power to do so, because you're tired of going to the store section for big sizes…. Seriously, EVERYTHING counts here, even the silliest thing counts. A couple of my reasons are for myself, because I want and love to in shape, because I want to keep the golden health I have, because I love going outdoors, because I now also have someone in my life that inspires me to look good, etc etc.
The second column will be the Why I Shouldn't Workout. Here you MUST be as honest as you can be. Don't write lines like "whoever loves me have to accept me how I look" or "I don't care what people think about me" or even "this belly is living proof that I like to eat good". Those are not reasons why not to workout, those are just a defense mechanism to try make you feel good about how you look. What are examples of why not to workout? I don't have enough energy, I'm lazy, I hate working out, I hate doing diets, I don't like having to change my habits, I like eating McDonalds, and so on. When you're done doing your list, relax and read each column and you ask yourself which column gives you the strength to NEVER give up and keep fighting for what you want to achieve, whichever the fitness level you want to achieve. Let's be honest, most if not everybody here don't just want to lose 5 lbs, we all have bigger goals, bigger dreams, and just like most aspects of our lives, we'll struggle at times, we encounter situations that slow us down but we never stop, we keep pushing forward until we pick up the pace and continue our path.
I hope this post makes sense to all of you and you find it useful.
