I have been doing level 1 for a couple of weeks now and im still am getting my butt kicked....i hear a lot of people going right into level 2 and I wouldnt even consider it right now. I'm still following the beginner for most of it....I use 3lb weights and never stop...I run about 45 min before I do Shred and I still cant understand how others moved on so quickly to level 2? I figure I should go to level 2 when I can keep u with the advanced moves on level 1........so i'm just wondering what all the shred fans are doing or how they started out and moved up with each level??? Curious curious:O)

  • I did Level 1 for about 12 days before I moved to Level 2. I LOVE level 2 and its not that bad. I was scared to move up myself but trust me, its not that bad. I think the harder stuff is the cardio. I am on day 26 and only did Level 3 one time. Move up when YOU feel ready, don't worry about others. Also, have you tried doing the Shred first and then jog? I find, for me, that I always stay on my treadmill longer and do better after I do the workout first. Maybe you'll have more energy if you did it first to try the harder moves?

I forgot to add....I sometimes go back and do Level 1 at least once a week. Just for the variation of movements and muscle working :)

I just started 30DS 6 days ago but for 5 weeks before that was doing a pilates dvd and a dvd called Buff Moms which was kind of circuit training as well with TONS of squats and lunges. I found it extremely challenging (and it's about 35 minutes long) but was bored. I'm still doing level one but do plan to move up after the first 10 days. If I hadn't done the 5 weeks of Buff Mom's there is absolutely NO way I'd be ready to move on. As it is the first 3 days I was screaming at Jillian to shut her face haha. I am able to do the more difficult versions of the exercises and I don't want to stay at level 1 for too long because I will get bored. My plan is to do the 10 days of each (if I'm ready for the 3rd level after only 10 days of the second level- I may not be) then do them randomly to mix it up a bit.

You may run AFTER the shred. That may help you... but definitely dont move up unitl you are ready.

I am on day 10 of level one...I do it with 5 lb weights...but I don' t know if I could make it through after running that much before. I run for about 10 minutes, then do the shred and then finish my cardio after that. Maybe try switching your routine around. I am ready for level two...

Just started shred last week...its harder than you think its gonna be, but love it. How many calories are we burning for each time...trying to figure out how much of a workout out it really is. Any ideas?

I would definitely save your run for after. L1 for me was fairly easy by my 8th day I was barely sweating. But L2 has kicked my butt the first 3 days and I have a feeling will continue to.
