too much peanut butter!!!

so i made the mistake last night of snacking on an apple and peanut butter... which sounds harmless enough, but this was no ordinary peanut butter, it's Peanut Butter & Co's Mighty Maple, and it is heaven in a jar. i've been seriously restricting myself lately because i tend to go overboard with it, so last night all that restriction came back as a full-fledged craving and i ate waaaay too much. maybe 8 or so tablespoons? then today i woke up feeling horrible, and i've been completely nauseous all day. i've felt like i've had to throw up but i have a cursedly strong stomach and i rarely will actually throw up. even though in this case i think it would make me feel a lot better.
i have 2 questions: one, do you think it was the peanut butter that made me sick, or is it just the fact that i work in a germ-farm preschool? and two, since i was so nauseous all day i didn't eat anything, except one orange and a banana around 5:30 pm, so do you think all those ridiculous calories i consumed last night were offset by hardly eating anything today? is that how it works, or will those peanut butter cals turn to fat no matter how much/little i eat the next day?

I had a feeling when I saw the title that you were speaking of this company I am addicted to as well, except I am a lover of their White chocolate peanut butter, talk about heaven. For me it's just not buying it, keep it at a friends house you go to once in a while.0

I don't blame you, that stuff sounds yummy! To beat your craving, just allow yourself a "funsize" amount on celery or apples, instead of deny yourself completely so you won't end up going overboard.0

ive only ever tried their dark chocolate dreams peanut butter and i before MFP i was eating out of the jar before bed. : /
sounds like they should have a warning label!!!!0 -
I'm in love with their Dark Chocolate Dream. It could be the peanut butter that made you sick. Not necessarily because it was peanut butter, but if you have gotten used to eating less, eating a lot can tend to make you sick. Yes, not eating much today will offset the overeating yesterday. Your weight loss is the balance of calories over the whole week. So, overeating one day won't necessarily ruin your weight loss for the week.0

I am a huge PB2 fan but I've also been mixing 2-3 tbsp of PB2 with enough water to make it kinda thin then adding in 1 tbsp of the Dark Chocolate Dreams in with it. It thickens it up and adds the yummy flavor. You get most of the taste for much less calories.
2 tbsp PB2 = 45 cal
1 tbsp Dark Choc Dreams = 85 cal
= 130 calories
Maybe consider this idea next time a craving hits you??0 -
I have to disagree a bit with the last post (edit: two posts previous). Just because you have a negative balance in calories doesn't always mean you'll see the results you want. If you eat, like I did today, an enormous amount of calories at one time, your body can only use a certain amount of those calories, and then will store the rest as fat. If that was all I had for the whole day, my calorie count would have probably been okay, but my body was still storing that as fat, and from what I read, will eat up muscle when it starts to really get hungry again because that is the easiest source of energy for the body to get quickly.
So the key is not only eating the correct number of calories, but spreading them out. Not eating much one day cannot completely cancel another day, it will just make your body think it's starving.
Just my two cents!0 -
