Calorie deduction for strength training exercises.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this whole thing. This is my second day using this site and my first time ever making a conscious effort to lose weight in a methodical fashion like this.

I have a question about the EXERCISE section. When I enter in my cardio workout I see that it calculates or allows me to enter the calories. I do not see this for the strength training exercise section though. I'm sure I'm burning some calories with that as well and would like to include that in all of this.

I'm having trouble understanding what the point of entering that info is if you can't somehow track how it's benefiting you. I guess it's good if you're just doing it for journaling/logging purposes???

Is there any way to do this?

welcome to MFP, first of all! :)

if you do a search for "strength training" under cardio, it will pop up, and you can enter your calories.
