To weigh or not to weigh????

How often do you weigh? I am the kind of person who likes to see results. If I get on the scale and it hasn't moved I get discouraged. I don't want that happening again. My plan right now is to go to the doctors office to weigh once a week. How's that sound?

I personally only weigh in once a week but do check my progress once in awhile during. I know a few who only weigh in once a month and some who weigh in every day. Its really what is best for you but remember that the scale isn't the only place to see progress. Definitely use measurements as a way to see results! The scale as been known to be a tricky *kitten*.0

When i read your title i thought to myself..."that is the question".:) Some people do it once a week and others do it twice a month. Figure out what works best for you:)0

That's what I do...I weigh once a week down at the gym on campus. But that is more a necessity due to not having a scale in my room and not being able to afford a good one yet. Otherwise I'd be the obsessive person who weighs every morning lol0

I weigh every morning, but I RECORD my weight once a week. It does keep me motivated, because if I'm up a couple pounds, I'll do what I can to meet my exercise and diet goals, and if I'm down a couple pounds, I do whatever I can to maintain that loss and push it further. But I only record on a specific day of the week so my ticker isn't fluctuating so much, because those big red numbers staring at me would discourage me a little bit I think. I used to only "check in" when I had a loss, so my numbers were always going down, but then I would feel guilty if I didn't reflect a few pounds I had gained. I think my current system works better for me! Keeps me motivated! Good luck! :glasses:0

oh yes......the dreaded scale is soooo not my friend!!!! I have decided to use the one at the doctors office because i know it will be right. however my scale at home says i weigh less.....hhhmmmmmmm....i think i like mine better lol thanks for all the feedback!!0

Don't base your results on just a scale, but use it as a pint of reference or to make sure the number is,not increasing. Take your measurements, get your body fat % at your local gym. The scale for us,women is the devil lol. If we are sore we retain water, if its that time of the month, if we eat to much salt we retain, if we don't drink enough water we retain. Use more than just the scale, plus no matter how much we weigh if we can get a smaller size wouldn't u be just as happy? :-)0

Once a week, first thing in the morning, naked.
I have seen a loss every single week.
It is just too demotivating to see the scales down one minute, and up the next so this is one rule I stick to fanatically, no matter how tempted I am to weigh myself!0 -
I clock in every morning after I do my bathroom business. I don't get discouraged with fluctuations. I expect them and I embrace them. It keeps me accountable for the calories and activity I do the days prior. Plus, I like the graph line which usually shows a steady decrease with little blips here and there. It also helps with experimentation results.0

I do weigh myself evey morning, but only record once a week (and if nothing happened that week, I'll wait another week with recording).
I recently bought new scales and I'm heavier on them than I was on the old ones. Felt really disappointed to see a higher weight again, even though I KNOW I hadn't put anything on, it's just the different scales. But it did prove a point, that in the grand scheme of things, 3 lbs more or less really won't matter that much.0 -
I weigh myself once a week even then I try not to get discouraged because it will sometimes not read what I want it too , I just go one and think tomorrow is another day .. You got this girl !!0

i do an official weigh in once a week, first thing in the morning, before i put my shoes on to go "running" (lol i'm still too fat to be able to REALLY run). and then i do little "cheat hops" 2 or 3 times in between - during the day cuz i'm curious about the fluctuation, and maybe once in the morning just to see if i've made progress that week so far. it does all kinds of awesome things to my motivation. but i have to be careful about it - i totally have the potential to become either totally vain or totally obsessive about it. or both!
i'm actually pretty new to this whole thing, but i've decided only to take my measurements once a month, like in the third week. thataway i won't be super-discouraged if there's not a big difference every time i check.0
