I never worry if my proteins or carbs go over but know that if I go over on my fats and sat fats then I'm likely to pay for it I rarely go over on cals but have on a few occasions gone over on my fats and I have either not lost weight, not lost inches or worse gained

Watch the sat fat levels dude. You don't wanna go over them too much! Mainly because too much Sat Fat is not good for you!

I watch saturated fats, but not really for weight loss. I am trying to get my cholesterol level reduced even more than I already have, and my doctor said that one of the most important factors for that (dietary wise) is sat. fats because they are what helps serum cholesterol stay put in your blood. While cholesterol itself is mostly genetic, by reducing sat. fats you decrease the likelihood of the ability of the cholesterol to remain in the blood instead of being used properly or broken down. At least that's what my doctor told me, and since he did tell me that my serum total cholesterol went down 22 points.

I'm sure there's other great reasons why you should watch those nasty ol' sat. fats, too...

But for weight loss, it's really calories. Surplus of calories equals gain, deficit equals loss. Case in point is the guy who did the Twinkie diet.

Watch calories for weight loss, and saturated fats for all over health!
