Breakfast before I work out?

Working out on an empty stomach creates a catabolic atmosphere in your body. When your body runs out of fuel for your workout it has to start burning muscle for energy.
This only applies to endurance cardio, so if you're going out for a two hour run, yes by all means... but I don't think these are the kind of morning sessions people are talking about here.0 -
Seems everyone said it already, but if you feel fine you don't need to eat. I don't eat before early morning workouts, only coffee. I have protein supplement afterward.

Absolutely!! My other half is currently training for London Mara... so when he's got a 20-miler on a Sunday he'll have his porridge at 5am (US "oatmeal"?) ... come back to bed for an hour and a half and then go for a run. LOL :laugh:0
