Im trying to up the calorie burn when doing cardio on elliptical.. I started wearing a 20 lbs weight and 2.5 lbs wrist weights, will this really help in burning fat

I would think so. At the least it boost your endurance. Maybe some days with, some days without?0

Wearing 25 extra pounds (as long as they are distributed properly) means you'll burn cals as if you were 25lbs heavier.0

Wouldn't it be easier just to increase the resistance on the elliptical? I'm afraid I would hurt myself wearing weights on the elliptical, lol.0

Im trying both!! I'm on my last 20 lbs and I swear it fighting me!! so im adding and adjusting what ever I possibly could.. the weighted vest feels great..I usally just walk with it but there is stil some snow and ice.. so i saw it laying there and said.. why not0
