Hi all,
My apologies in advance as this may be a little bit long, but I am looking for guidance and any feedback you are able to provide me with.
I started my weight loss journey at this time last year at a starting weight of 152 lbs. By calories counting usuing MFP, I managed to lose 14 lbs to my current weight of 138 lbs. Along with calorie counting, i was basically on the eliptical everyday for 20-30 mins and did about 15 minutes of weight exercises every other day.
Since then, I have been stuck at this weight. I have started again about 2 months ago with the calorie counting, however instead of doing that exercise routine, I do now the fitness classes which mostly consistof abs and butt, total muscle conditioning, step and pump. I do get a great workout from these and have been noticing some definition in legs, however the weight loss itself is not budging. I do understand the concept that I may be gaining muscle which is why I am not losing weight.
So my question is this: should I go back to my old routine, where I was seeing results with calorie counting and eliptical/weights or continue with my new routine of fitness classes? Do these classes work as well as the cardio classes. I just need to lose those last 10 lbs. Do these even matter, or should I focus on toning up?
I would love to hear some of your experiences. Thanks again for listening.
