I see that there are a lot of groups in thsi forum, but most have been around for a while. I Would like to start a new one, since this is a new year and I know that I need all the motivation that I can get.

Like the title says I am a Mom on a mission to lose 100 + pounds.
I am at a very unhealthy weight for my age, and I am so sick of seeing girls my age that have the body that I want.
It's depressing.. So I decided that I am done feeling sorry for myself, and want to change.

This is a group open to anyone, who needs motivation, somewhere to vent and needs help losing weight.

At this time I do not own a scale, but will get one soon.

My workouts consist mostly with my Wii, and stationary bicyle. Will eventually Add walking, and then get to running.
I have an addiction to Dr.Pepper, my weakness, It has been very hard to stay away from not drinking them, but I have to cut back gradually since my body is craving the caffeine.

Before we get to the day by days: Introduce yourself, tell us how much you want to lose, and what you want to overcome.

Mon-
Check in for the start of the week..

Sun- Weigh in

The reason I didn't post anything for the other days is that its an open forum to post what you want in those days.
Just Check in on Monday
and then weigh in at the end of the week. I say check in on those days because its important for that motivation for the start of the week.

This is open to ANYONE who is on a mission to lose weight.

As I am a full time student I will be able to check in here everyday to lend an ear. Lets get to losing that weight and being healthy..

  • I am in! I want to lose about 100 lbs, so far I have lost 27 (14 on my own and 13 since starting with MFP). My biggest thing to overcome really just staying motivated. That is why I am here, so far the message boards and new friends have really helped me stay focused. :)

Hi there! I'm also a mom, and have a little over 100lbs to lose yet until my "Ideal weight". But shooting for an 80lb loss to start with. I work full time as well, and eat better at work than I do at home! It's crazy. I've been on a work-out break for a while. My thighs were in sooooo much pain for a few days, and since then I've found it hard to jump back on the horse.

I've lost 35lbs since joining MFP, and still have a ways to go.

I am a single mom, a student, and I work full-time. I have been letting ME fall by the way side over the last few months. I need to Lose 200lbs and I too am addicted to Dr. Pepper. I just learned recently that I officially have high blood pressure and I am borderline diabetic. Which means I have been too fat for too long. I have been having head aches due to my blood pressure I am sure. I keep thinking I am going to have a stroke at any moment. I have got to do this. I haven't weighed myseld in weeks because I am scared to see what the scale has in store for me.

I need some serious encouragement. I also need meal ideas. sald and chicken breast get old.

    Good luck to everybody!!

This sounds like something I need! I joined in January and was sooo motivated to lose weight. I did well for the first month and a half and lost 8 lbs. But I have stayed the same weight since then. I will do good for about 4 days and then I blow my diet on the weekends. So weighing in on Sunday will be great for me so I don't cheat on the weekends.

    I'm 21 yrs old, 5'9" and 175 #
    Goal weight 150 #

I have a twin sister who is about 25 lbs lighter than me, so to be the same weight as her, or close, would be such an accomplishment for me!

I am new here and look for all the motivation I can get.

I am going to be 49 on 3/18 and have 93 pounds to lose, but if I lose 100 it would not hurt. LOL I am not on here on the weekends. I have two daughters who are both married and a grandson. I would love to be able to run and play with him like I did with his Mommy and Auntie. Sometimes I just have such a hard time getting on to the floor to play with him. He loves to ride scooters and I can do it, just not like I would like to - does that make sense? I don't have a problem drinking my 8 cups of water or more a day. I do pretty good posting my food and my exercise when I get it done. That is where I need my motivation. I try and do it first thing in the morning, but there are times that things pop up that have to be done. And then the whole day I just put it off. I have a treadmill that I use. I have been up to two miles - mainly just one mile, but starting fresh I am doing 15 - 25 minutes a day/5 days a week. I do feel good if I get 3 days a week in.

When I joined here on March 4, 2011 ( I think it was then) I weighed 240.5 I am now at 238.0. I am hoping to be down 10 pounds by April 1. I say that because that is a group that I joined. They check in on Fridays. I tend to weigh myself every morning. Since Monday I have been at 238.0

I would say when you can get off the Dr. Pepper don't deprive yourself - maybe have one a week. I have 1 - 2 cups of coffee in the morning, and the rest of the time water. If I tend to need something warm I drink Peppermint Tea - no caffeine or calories. So I can count it as water.

That's for the motivation - here I go to get on my treadmill. I had someone come this morning for me to do their taxes so of course no exercise first thing this morning.

    Welcome.. :flowerforyou:

I know how that goes, and I have been there many times before. I think that checking in on Sundays instead of the middle of the week is better because it does remind you through the week that you have something that your working towards at the end of the week. This way its kinda like a new goal every week.

I have all the faith in the world that WE CAN DO IT..
This is the first step to a better you. Just remind yourself from now on YOU CAN DO IT. !!!!!!!!!

As for any new reciepe ideas, oh I am the go to girl on that..
As hard as it may be I plan to be around food for the rest of my life as my job goal is to open my bakery.. Its funny I can cook as much as I want and not eat what I cook, no matter how tempting it is.

I was told a while ago to not be afraid of the scale. Instead of seeing a number see a word, a postive word, each time you lose weight even if its just a pound see a postive word. The results will sometimes not show on the scale, and people get discouraged, but the proof is in the clothes, and not the scale. :)
I broke out the stationary bike and did 2 miles on it the first day and thought i was going to die. I cloesed my eyes and pushed through the pain.

I know that we can do it..

Congrats on the weight lose so far ladies, and the weight lose that will come off later down the road.

I'm in on this one too! I started with MFP on January 2 and have lost 17lbs thus far. My goal is to lose 110 more. I've done really well so far sticking to it but I'm starting to lose my steam and I've got to change up my exercise routines because I've sorta plateaued already. One of my biggest problems is not eating too much, it's actually not getting enough calories. No matter how hard I try, on most days I feel like I'm eating constantly and struggling to get to 1000 calories when my minimum goal is to get to 1150/day. It's weird, I know but I am also aware that this is one of the problems I'm having for losing because my body stays in starvation mode when I don't consistently take in enough calories. On the days I do get my calories I feel like all I do is eat, unless it's one of those occassions where I have a high calorie meal. I need to do this for my son and myself. While I know I'll never be super-skinny, that isn't my goal. My goal is to be more energetic, more lively, to be more of the person that I am personality wise. Oh, and just one suggestion that worked for me with soda, I was also addicted but I've found that if the very first thing I drink in the morning is water or green tea, then I'm more apt to drink water throughout the day and I don't really crave the soda anymore. Also, if we happen to go into a store, I'll get a flavored water (my favorite is LifeWater's Yumberry Pomegrante) and it settles my craving. After 2 full months, I find I dont even think about soda as an option any more! I want to do this, I need to do this, I have to do this!

Well I found that since drinking Unjury every morning that I do have more energy. One scoop with Milk, and It actuallykeeps me going through the day.. For lunch since that is apporaching I'm not sure what to eat because I need to go to the store but have to wait till friday.. I found that changing my eating habbits has been hard, but Its slowly getting there. I have family motivation from my sister because although she is the smaller one in the 100's wears a size 6 she still has problem areas that tend to run in our family, the butt, hips and thighs.. Curse you genes.. But With yall's help and her's I am DETERMINED to do this.. Thanks for the tips for the soda, when I am at the store on friday I will look out for stuff to help with the soda kick. I really have to change my eating habbits, because of the lack of the gallbladder, I know I can't do that low fat bland diet,(YUCK) I had to do that an wasn't good either.. Just did my hour and 30 min, Wii workout.. Plan in April to get the Wii fit, it fits my life and is so much easier with having my son, and plus he stands up and dances to the music.. :)

    Lets keep this up..

I played with my son all day today, and then did yoga with him this morning for an hour.. Was fun, he was cracking up, and must say at almost 10 months using him while I do yoga is exhausting... Lol..

Had a good day today.. going to the store tomorrow, and looking forward to keeping it up...

Did 1 mile on my treadmill and will get all my water in before bed. My hubby and I are going out to eat dinner tonight - I am planning on getting fish. Really trying to eat better.

I did about 8 miles in the past two weeks. I hope to do better next week.

 40 mins on the bike before bed tonight.. Havent been able to drink all the water that I need because I find that I am not thristy that much these days.. Not sure if that is a medical issue that I should worry about..

Today was sushi and it was really good..

Tomorrow is going to be a tae bo workout 30 mins.. working on the abs.. :) If my tredmil wasn't broken and speed up when i have it on a slower settings then I guess i would be doing that because I love the tredmil. but the bike is good for the butt, legs and abs.. So

Well my first dr.pepper of the week, doing good on that.. Bought some V8 fusion light drinks today, so I make sure that I get the fruits and veggies I need everyday.

Well this week has gone by so fast, and I feel really good.. I actually have found that I am less tired..

I did 1 mile on my treadmill today. So far since March 1 I have done 226 minutes on my treadmill.

Yesterday 96 ounces of water. I will for sure get 64 ounces in today maybe more. I get 64 ounces every day. I get excited when I get extra in.

We are supposed to weigh in tomorrow. I hope to be able to have time to get on. I may have to weigh in on Monday.

    Good luck to everyone.

@pbear22 - WTG on one Dr. Pepper for the week. I bet it really tasted good. There are times that I don't seem as thirsty as others. I do also drink hot Peppermint Tea and count it toward my water - you may can drink it cold I have not tried that. There are no calories and no caffeine. I think I already wrote that in the beginning of this. WTG on your working out. Working out does seem to give you more engery

Well This is my weigh in so far.
I got on the scale that i bought this morning and checked it like 10 times to make sure, but I have lost 11 pounds.

So not to confuse people, I have been doing this for about two weeks and hadn't weighed myself unti this morning. I knew my starting weight because I did that at my sons check up at the doctors office, I got on the scale to see how much I weighed.

    This excites me..

And it surprises me to say this but I actually love working out on the stationary bike, and the one that I have is the one that is lower to the ground. I did research and found out that if I push the front in more that I will get a better workout. Not only that it works out all the parts that I need help on..

After April I will be the proud owner of Sketchers shape ups, and some new weights to do some really good cardio.. I plan also to sign up for Zumba workout class once every week with my mom.

My mom had the lapband surgery and always asked if I wanted it done, although I do see this as a kinda easy way to lose the weight because you are limited at what you can eat. I know that I can do this, and so far this is proving true. Just work out, eat right, and have fun doing it.

So That is my weigh for this week..

Great job to everyone in here...
    Keep up the work..

    Dec 12, 2010 here I come..

So Everyday I have finsished my food journal I have been under. I have taken many things and either done low fat, or fat free. I do still treat myself with something that being a diet dr. pepper. But I have only done one a week. So that is going great.

I bought those v8 fruit fusion drinks but the light ones I try to drink a glass a day to get my daily veggies and fruit that I need.

My work outs I can say have been kicking my butt, but that is a good thing. I can tell with in the couple of weeks that I have been doing this that my thighs are smaller, my calves are starting to have defination to them.. :)

I would say that I could see my feet but my chest gets in the way of that.. Even though it does get to the point where it hurts when I am working out, I push through the pain and make the 30 mins or the 40 mins and even the hour. I am well on my way to reaching my goal..

I hope everyone else is doing good and staying on track..

Good luck and Keep it up..
