Sounds too good to be true??? You could use that money for more workout equipment!!! (Shameless MFP plug!)

I have no clue where to post this but I just saved about $300!!! I have no clue where to share this bit of information, but I know some of you are game freaks out there.

I was given the phone number for the Nintendo repair department from a friend. I have a DS which one screen which isn't working (more like a glorified flashlight now) and another DS which has been dropped a million times.

I called the number and even though we are out of the store warranty (90 days), they are sending me a free pink DS, and repairing my son's cracked hinge one for $50. YEY!!!

So if this happens to you here's the number 800-255-3700. This exchange of DS's will also reset the 1 year warranty for both systems. I'm sure I could have fought her on the $50 fee, but the DS is spending the night at a friend's house tonight, and I didn't want to have to deal with any of it, so she did sort of a "We can do the other DS since it was dropped for $50, would that be good?" Me, "Great!" I was going to throw both away and had no clue what to do but buy another for my kid and call it done.

ANYWAY!!! There's a way to save some $$$!!!

we did the same thing..... our warranty was up as well and they charged me 35 to fix it..... (they actually sent a new one because they couldnt fix the problem) I told her that my son sat on it so she said since i was honest whe gave me an extra 15$ off..... i guess lots of people call and say " somehow it broke and it must be defected!!!" .... honesty is the best policy!!!

How funny...that must be part of their book of things to say. She said the same thing to me, thanking me for my honesty, and told me that they would take care of my son's DS since I was honest and told she would have it fixed anyway, even though it was human error.

    Yey!

I just know anyone here with this info, will be thrilled to not RE-PAY for the stinkin' toy for normal damage. I'm thrilled!

Another trick you can use to save moneys is to call any company you are currently in a 'service agreement' and let them know that you are considering canceling your service. This works especially well with cell phone service.

I did this with sprint and my bill went from about 120$ a month to a little over 50$ because they offered me a "special plan" because I was "such a good customer and they didn't want to lose my business" which included 1000 minutes, free texting, nights and weekends starting at 7pm, and bunch of other bonuses.

I returned two of my kids' DS. They both have white ones and they both broke at the hinges. I googled it, and found out that it a common occurance with them and when they found out I was already informed of the problem hinges, they had me send them in (they paid for shipping) and replaced both of them for free. I was so relieved!
