Is it ok to lift weights two times a day?

I did a leg workout this morning, but I'm feeling good tonight and I'm thinking about going back and doing an upper-body workout. Would this hurt my progress or cause me to "over-train"?

I think its fine as long as you don't work those same muscles for the next couple days. Muscles needs time to rest and regroup.

It depends on when you did you last upper body workout, and how fit you are, and how hard you intend to work out. All things being equal, working upper body when you have worked legs earlier in the day should not be a problem. Now if you did a really intense upper body workout yesterday, I would suggest a light upper body workout today.

You should post your workout routine and schedule for a good answer.

Generally speaking you will be okay since you are doing diff body parts. Just make sure you allow enough time in between upper bodyworkouts to recover.

Doubling up can throw your schedule off though. If you planned on doing upper body tomorrow now it will be off.

Maybe just do some low intensity exercises or jog/brisk walk to boost that metabolism.

Just rotate your muscle groups. This morning I worked out my legs(lunges/hamstring curl/step ups) and felt I needed more of an workout. I did 4 arm machines on a decent weight. I do arms on Fridays so I will have had plenty of rest between.

There should be nothing wrong with it as long as you are working different muscles. It would actually be a better "total body" workout in my opinion!

    Good response.
