I had to get my gallbladder taken out last monday, and a week before that I had a nasty cold I had to get rid of before the surgery. So I havn't been to the gym for 3 weeks now. Before, I was out and about all the time, going to the gym everyday, and now I barely want to get out of bed. Is this normal? Or am I just depressed after the surgery and it will go away?

It takes a couple weeks to recover from gallbladder surgery...you'll have to ease back into activity...not dive headfirst

It took me a lot longer to recover from my gallbladder sugery last year than i was expecting. Just treat yourself gently for now and look forward to doing so much more and feeling SO much better come Spring.

It's completely normal! Give yourself the full three weeks before you really get back to normal duty. I had mine out back in January and I'm so stinking stubborn I insisted on pushing too soon. Every time I did, I'd be back in bed the entire next day. Do get up and walk, though, as soon as you're up to it. Just take it easy. Like laps from one end of your house to the other. I got up and started moving by day 2 and it helped the back pain from just sitting for so long and the shoulder pain from the CO2 gas. I promise, if you can take it easy to that 3 week clearance day, you'll feel 100% better! And I promise that the surgery is totally, totally worth it, too. I haven't had an attack since New Year's Eve and I just can't even express how good it is to know I won't go through that ever again.
