another newbie here

hi all
I just joined today. Shocked, not really the joiner type. Anyway, to make a long story short, i've been up and down many times in my life.
4 years ago, i had cancer, and lost over 100 lbs. I was down to a size 12, which for me is a dream goal. But, you guessed it, i put it all back on, and then some. so, this last year, i lost my husband, and now i am cooking for just me. What a change. I have tried many weight loss plans, but this time for me, i am eating sensibly, and counting calories.
So far i have lost 37lbs. on my own without exercise. I realize that pretty soon, i will have to incorporate the exercise with the diet to continue to lose. I found this board by looking for a calorie counter. Today i am starting a food journal, and writing down everything that i eat. I am going to try to be brutal, and put down every morsel i put in my mouth. Not easy, as i am a part time cook.
I hope this is a good place for me.

    I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband, and I applaud you for having such a positive attitude after coming through cancer! If you can make it through that, you can make it through anything!
