So, I'm overweight. I hate it. I've been gone for a while. I've started putting on weight. *GR!!*
I've decided that I want to run a 5k in May for Hope For The Warriors. It's a run for Wounded Warriors Foundation. My husband being a Wounded Warrior, it's something very near and dear to my heart.
So, I'm going to start the C25K on Monday. Anybody want to join me?? :-)

i just started it yesterday so my days of week 1 on going to be consecutive (sp?) but next week I will have them more spread out. i'm adding the jog/walks to my p90x plan. extra cardio never hurt anyone. Good luck on your program i never did couch to 5k before but i have done a few 5k's i have done 5 so far and i'm not a runner but i like the feeling of accomplishment. I will continue to do 5k's but with the help of becoming a better runner will help me with my time rather than just winging it.0

I started a couple of weeks ago, am on level 3 this week. I've never ran before in my life let alone thought about doing a 5k lol! So it is something I am determined to complete and accomplish!0

Just popping in to offer some support. I started the Couch to 5K program last February and ran my first 5K last May. I had not run since high school, and was also overweight and out of shape. On the first day, I thought I was going to die trying to complete the 60 second running intervals. Well, long story short, after doing the program and that first 5K, I went on to run a 10K last October and my first half marathon in January. Along the way, I also lost 50 pounds. I now consider myself a runner and am continuing to train. My next half marthon is in April. I hope you also find success with the program. Stick with it, take it slow, build up as you feel ready (I repeated a few weeks), but each week, I just did a little bit more, went a little bit father, and am now amazed at how far I have come in a relatively short time. I was a 42 year old overweight, out of shape, mother of two...so if I can do it, anyone can!! Good luck, you can do it!!0

Wow! That's amazingt tamcrit! I'm REALLY hoping that I can do my first 5k in May! My husband is a Wounded Warrior and the run is to benifit them, so, I'm kinda partial. I went and looked at running shoes today. Man! Those things can get expensive! Lol. I'm really hoping that I can lose some weight and get back in shape as well. I already asked my husband for anew iPod for my birthday, whichis in June, so I can have something to listen to! But then again... maybe I should ask my mom & step dad.... *giggle*0
