Since I started my program, I opened my spice cabinet, dropped the salt shaker (most of the time). I even bought a basil and a parsley plant for the window sill. And if I can grow these, so can you. I live in a condo with a northern exposure, no sunlight, but plenty of daylight. They're doing great, and I'm snipping daily.

Some tips I've started incorporating:

Couple shakes of cinnamon on top of grounds when I brew my coffee
Couple shakes of turmeric on any chicken or egg dish
Couple shakes of dill on eggs, fish (especially salmon)
Basil leaves along with other greens or even on a sandwich
Parsley with almost anything

This gives me an opportunity to change things up using very similar ingredients. It's very helpful, and healthful.

I've heard cloves are another good choice; haven't figured out what to do with those yet. Any suggestions, I'm up for them!

Happy Cooking!

Another great addition to coffee is cardamom! I have some dried pods that I throw into the coffee grinder along with the coffee beans. You could probably get it already ground as well. It makes for a very exotic drink!
