Gaining a couple pounds every day.

Sorry for another topic!
Every time I weigh myself, I seem to go up by at least a pound. I tend to wear the same thing every time though. I have no idea what's going on. I've exercised at the gym twice this week, plus walking to Uni a few times, since I first weighed myself, but to no luck.
I'm eating less than what I used to, I used to pig out on anything & everything I fancied but now I'm actually watching what I eat, trying to make healthy choices. I know yesterday I was told to up my calorie intake, which I am trying to do by the way. Today hasn't been that great as I burnt off a fair amount in the gym but haven't felt that hungry but I am forcing myself to have a large final meal. I have no idea if that's playing a part in it? God knows..
Thanks in advance. :)

Time to put the scale away.

You are upping your calories and trying to get healthier. The scale has no bearing on healthiness. No more scale until you get yourself to a healthy calorie intake (you are going to have to gain a little to reset your metabolism back to rights)

Also don't bank on your last meal to get your cals up- plan out your meals throughout the day with your workout burn roughly in mind. Breakfast and lunch should be at least as substantial as dinner, if not more so.

We often gain before we lose. Muscle weighs more than fat. It could be a number of things really. If you are not getting at least 1200 calories a day, your body is probably storing everything you put into it, especially if you are working out as well. Are you weighing yourself at the same time every day? I weigh myself first thing in the morning, naked. I only weigh twice a week.

Looking at your last few days of eating it looks like you're not eating enough. You're anywhere from 700 calories to 900 calories a day. You need to fuel your body.

And to dispel the myth...muscle does not weigh more than fat. A pound is a pound is a pound. Muscle is more dense. At the deficit you're at, there's no way possible you are putting on muscle.

    Marshy....(can I call you that? )

You only have a couple of days logged so it's too soon to say. Stay on here. Don't get discouraged. Keep doing good and do better everyday. Log everything and if the past couple of days is an example of what you eat. You might need to eat more. How tall are you?

    Don't get frustrated.

    Of course you can! :D

I'm 5foot11, roughly. I am trying to up my intake as I was told yesterday I'm not eating enough, it's just proving difficult as I'm not a big eater as it is. I eat small amounts but bad stuff like chocolate/crisps/pizza/chips.. Trying to swap it for healthy stuff is making my calories plummet as I'm eating roughly the same amount.

I won't let myself give up, I'm looking forward to a summer with a beach body! :)

Are you logging everything you eat? If you are, you are waaaay under your calorie intake. I would go into your "Settings" and "Update your diet profile". I would see what MFP sets for you as a daily caloric goal and try that out for a couple of weeks (and don't weigh yourself for at least two weeks). If you are not eating enough your body will go into starvation mode...and that is not good.

I weigh myself once a week, first thing in the am and naked. Usually before hopping in the shower. I stay pretty consistant that way. If I weigh myself in the evening, there is usually about a 5lb difference!

I agree with this. ALSO I find that when I start working out more my body tends to retain more water, remember us ladies retain more water than men. So what do you do to NOT retain that water? Drink LOTS of water I know I know it sounds really backwards but it truly works. If I don't drink at least 70oz of water a day my scale won't budge or it will go up.

Remember the more you exercise the more you need to eat!

Only recently I've started to actually try to drink. Before now, I would have 1, maybe 2 glasses of drink a day. Now I'm trying to gulp down water whenever I feel hungry. :P
I'm gunna move my calorie limit up again, to try to encourage me to eat more.
& yeah, I think I leave out a couple things like sauce & stuff, but otherwise I log pretty much everything.
I'll avoid my scales until next week now, don't want them to ruin this for me hah.

O girl...you are way too tall to function on 900 calories or less. You need to up your calories but with the right things. Start w veggies and fruit. I know it's hard but do it little by little. You need nutrients in your body and you are going to have to learn this yourself. Start on here and researching on your own what's good for your body. There are a bunch of resources to help you. Look up eating clean for a good foundation. Don't fill the calories you need with junk. You need fuel.

    Good luck!

O and my opinion it's fine to weigh yourself everyday but do it at the same time of day nakey preferrably when you first get up after you pee. Log it somewhere if you want to keep track of your fluctuations. You'll see some days you are heavier than others and that will help you see if you are on track.

I'm a scale addict though. some of us are and as long as you use it for good instead of evil you will be just fine.
