I'm looking to start running a bit. probably work a couch to 5K shortly, and I want to get some decent shoes. Any experiences anyone would care to share? I like the idea of Nike +, but it's not a deal breaker - after an evening of investigating, I'd say I'm mid arch normal gait, 5' 10", 257 lbs atm.

Go to a specialty shoe store like a running shoe store and let them look at your feet (how you walk, stride, size, etc). Take that information and find you shoes that match and feel great. Luckily the way I walk I have a normal step I think is how she called it, and I can buy normal shoes or buy their $250 specials. Find a comfortable shoe is what I recommend. We only get one pair of feet.0

My whole family swears by New Balance - they have so many widths, styles, etc.0
