Knee Support - "One Size Fits All" - Yeah right!

This really makes me mad!! I bought a knee support in Boots yesterday (expensively priced at just under £20!!!) and it said "one size fits all". Great, i thought. I'll be in this and back exercising in no time. WRONG! It barely fits round my knee and i had a real struggle to do up the velcro straps! Obviously this one size fits all malarky doesn't take into account that I might not be a standard "all" person and might actually be fat! I have measured around my knee (47cm) but it didn't give any measurements on the packet.
Anyway, rant over lol. I want a knee support that will actually fit around my ample quads. I have looked at the McDavid open patella knee support and although the XL size says it will fit, i dont know how generous it is. Has anyone had one of these before? I am thinking about getting the XXL, just so that it can fit around my lower quad above the knee but i dont want it to be toooo big!
Can anyone help this desperate chunky-thighed lady?
Thanks in advance!

I am not trying to be unkind, but have you thought about a man's one? I would go to a sport shop and try some, I measured my knee and I am not as thin as I once was and it is 33cm, and my Husband is 44 cm, so I am guessing that a man's size one wight be the best option for you? I hope I am not offending :flowerforyou:0

Sorry no advice about the knee support but the "one size fits all" has always annoyed me. I have always had to buy xl tight to fit my legs even when I was a skinny minnie and its not like i'm mega tall at 5 foot 7 but with those one size fits all the crotch only came half way up my thighs! They barely fit my daughter who stands 5ft3 and under 8 stone, inside leg of 31" so God only knows who they modelled them on!

Hey no offence taken!! I wasn't looking at women's ones in particular (didn't know they had m/f one - thought they were universal!). I'm not sure i know of any proper sports shops near me that actually sell stuff like that. Looks like I will have to get an XXL one online and hopefully that will fit and do the job!
Catcrazy - I hear ya on the tights front too! So infuriating isn't it!!0
