Good morning, MFP family!
As promised, here is the J&M update:
I'm settling in nicely into mountain life (I think, anyway, J may have a different opinion..) It is so easy to find something new and beautiful- I wake up every morning in awe that I actually live HERE...
-->
Still doing the job search, I'm going today to put my application in to be waitstaff- unfortunately the guy from the childrens' home has yet to contact me back and I gots bills to pay, so I'm continuing in my search. I'm seriously considering starting my own business, too- I've noticed that there are no 'real' taquerias here, and growing up with an absentee mother, I spent a lot of time at my neighbors- we lived in a predominantly hispanic neighborhood, so most of the things I ate/learned how to cook were Tex-Mex dishes. I make a pretty mean chile verde... and my asado's not bad, either. :blushing: :blushing: Anyways, when I eventually start school, making/selling burritos for breakfast/lunch and delivering may be a means to get me through. So there. I may be the "Burrito Lady" of Boone before too long.
AND NOW... *drumroll* what you've all been tolerating my blather for.... *tee hee* .... the juicy stuff.
I couldn't be any more in love with Jeremy.
Of course I say that now- and I'm sure today I'll find that not to be true. It seems to happen that way every day- I think that my heart couldn't possibly be any more full, and he gives me a look- or a kiss- or a smile- that makes me feel like I'm exploding in every direction at once.
I still can't believe this is happening to me- he's my knight in shining armor, and what makes it even better, is that I know that he is just as committed to me as I am to him- the only things wandering are his hands at the movie theater!!!
(aaawwww SNAPZ!!!)
I jest, I jest :bigsmile: (or do I?!)
I'm honored that he's chosen me to share his life with- and that he's in love with me, too.
Thank you, my friends, for sharing in our joy, we love you all..

The Hispanic population in NC is exploding, so that might be a good idea for you!
Glad things are well and hope you find some source of income soon--I know that can be stressful. How is J doing?0 -
:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: That means hours upon hours upon hours of TaeBo!!!:laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
I love exercise calories!!! Tell J to set up the extra room!! :laugh:0 -

He's doing well-- I'm so proud of him... he's been really strong throughout this whole ordeal- I hate to see him in pain, but I'm glad I'm here to offer support and help him through. I'm sure I'll need it someday, and I know he'd do the same for me.
The funny thing that I've found is that Mexican food in NC and Mexican food in TX are TWO different animals.. lol... I don't know if they're ready for the heat!!

LOL--everything is different in NC!0 -
Ok, well I am SOO happy to hear everything is great!! (I knew it would be that way!!!)....and your job situation will be settled. You are so young and have time for your dream job to happen. Hey, you can get great tips being a waitress!! It's a means to an end!!
That restaurant idea sounds great and would do well I think. Hey, when it becomes a super success, open a branch up here in CT! I am able to find a lot of good Italian up here but the Mexican isn't wonderful!
Oh and remind me that if I come to visit you to not eat for a week!! Between your cooking and the southern bbq....I would be in TROUBLE!!! Well, I resisted a ton of my grandpas homemade bisuits and sausage gravy (Actually controlled myself and only had a little)....so maybe I do have the self-control! :laugh: :laugh:
Ciao my lovelies!!!

Connecticut?? DARE I?!?

Awwwwww...good news!
So glad to hear you are both doing well
It's funny what you said about food tasting different in different parts of the country
I traveled a lot before staying home and let me tell you, that is SOOOO true
Something as simple as pizza, is completely different in NYC vs Iowa (BEAUTIFUL place, but the food.....came home running..LOL)

Hi everyone,
I don't have a lot of time, but I just wanted to pipe on a few of the things Manda has said...
Her mexican food is FREAKIN OUT OF THIS WORLD. Seriously. I have never had such amazing food in my life. It helps that her palate is so similar to mine. If she tells me something is good, I pretty much count on loving it.
She says she's the lucky one, but she's just being sweet. She knows full well that I am the lucky one. I have thought I was in love before...then I met her. Good lord I never, ever, in my life would, nor could have thought I could love someone this much. I know now what my favorite poet Robert Burns must have felt when he wrote....
O my Luve's like a red, red rose
That's newly sprung in June;
O my Luve's like the melodie
That's sweetly played in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry:
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only Luve,
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho' it ware ten thousand mile.
So that's my update. I have fallen completely and totally into my little girl from Texas.
As for my withdrawals, it's a slow process, but it's getting better. I feel guilty for putting Manda through it, but I know in the end she is worth the pain. I would hurt like this for the rest of my life if it meant being with her.
I hope all of you are well and happy.
Much love to you all.
