I was wondering how many of you use the extra calories earned by exercising. I have weight watchers drilled in my brain and the extra calories were not added in. Are those of you finding success with this site using the extra calories?

Yes, eat them--MFP takes the deficit from your maintenance calories.

I always ate my exercise calories and lost 20 lbs. Getting to eat more is my biggest motivation to exercise!

Definitely eat them!!! With the point system on WW you do get extra points for excercise, so go ahead and eat them ~ you've EARNED them

I was on weight watchers and at least for the flex program you do add in extra points for exercising and you are encouraged to eat them. I always eat as much of my exercise calories as possible. Why not? I love to eat and this way I don't have to feel quite so bad about it

I forgot to add that it definitely works. 70 pounds lost so far!
  • All we're after is, for a 2lbs loss a week, a weekly calorie deflection of 3500 cals. (7 days times by 500 = 3500)

If your daily allowance, is 'x' amount which includeds a daily deflection of 500 cals, by just following the cals you'll end up with a 2 lbs loss, if you did 500 cals exercise then you daily deflection becomes 1000 for that day and that is too high a deflection for your metabolismn to remain unchanged.
