Treadmill Suggestions

Hey all! I'm seriously considering purchasing a treadmill for my home, and I'm looking for recommendations on reasonably priced, solid treadmills.
I am a runner, and I typically log 4 miles per session, two or three times per week. I need one that has a CHP of at least 3.0, and a MINIMUM 57" belt length (I'm 5'9" tall, and have quite a long stride, so I'm actually more comfortable with a 60" length)....
I've been looking into the AFG (Advanced Fitness Group) 5.0 Treadmill, which runs at about $2,299.00 here in Canada. There aren't very many reviews of this particular treadmill online, so I'm anxious to know if it's as great as I think it is!
If you have any input, or suggestions about the brand that YOU own, I'd love to hear from you! I'm completely open to considering various brands!

Make sure you take a look at Sole. Sole backs every treadmill with at least a lifetime warranty on the motor and frame, and at least a 3 year deck warranty.

This might help too.

we purchased a PRECOR treadmill about 2 years ago...LOVE IT
my husband did all the research and decided on this brand...partially because we both are over 200 pounds and wanted to be able to jog on it without it falling apart on us shortly after being purchase
anyhow...it is holding up exceptionally well...as is our PRECOR elliptical machine0 -
I have a treadmill, brand is called POS and it runs like a true POS lol hahahahaha .....jk well, not really, but yeah!
Anyways, you should try going to Finer Fitness. They had super duper treadmills @ around 1500$-2000$. They had a lot of good features & ran really nicely.0 -
I'm seconding the treadmill doctor link someone posted above. They write good objective reviews. http://www.treadmilldoctor.com/Elliptical-Review-Brand-Index
Beware that many treadmill "review" sites are marketing/affiliate sites in disguise.
From my research several months ago, Precors are the Mercedes Benz of Treadmills. No frills, but built rock solid and comfortable. What I finally bought was a Pacemaster brand (which you can also find in Precor stores), because it was similarly super-high-quality and had some really nice programmability features that i was interested in. Bonus: it was one of very few models that are built in the USA.
I suggest skipping any models that have fancy-schmancy features like built in TV, speakers, ipod hookups, and even fans and just go for the highest quality machine you can afford. And go to the stores with your running shoes on and and try them all out.

Thanks for your input, everyone!
I've tried a bunch, and I'm definitely leaning toward the AFG (it's not fancy, just a really sturdy folding treadmill), and the Precors....
I really appreciate the advice! Anyone had a horrible experience with either of these two brands? How about BH? Ironman? Bodyguard?0 -
We just bought a Nordic Track Commerical 1750 treadmill for our family for Christmas. We had looked at the Sole and then we we went with the Nordic Track.
The Commercial 1750 was awarded "Best Buy" for treadmills in the $1000 - $1499 price range from top online reviewers. My husband wanted to make sure that we got one that had a good commerical motor and would be sturdy.
I love it ! It has the wireless unit so we can go online and make our own maps in Google maps and walk/run those maps as well as pre-programmed workouts as well as iFit programs with Jillian Michaels.0 -
I have a vibelife treadmill. Both hubby and I are tall I'm 5'11 and he is 6'2. He has no problem running on it and I have no problem walking on it and we both have long strides. Some I tried my foot was hitting the end of the treadmill. I paid 700 dollars from ebay on the vibelife website they are 45000
