Iron-Rich Foods

Options
I was looking through my food diary and saw I was not getting enough iron. I found this website with this list.

http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/top-10-iron-rich-foods

To boost the amount of iron in your diet, try these foods:

Red meat
Egg yolks
Dark, leafy greens (spinach, collards)
Dried fruit (prunes, raisins)
Iron-enriched cereals and grains (check the labels)
Mollusks (oysters, clams, scallops)
Turkey or chicken giblets
Beans, lentils, chick peas and soybeans
Liver
Artichokes
And here's a tip: If you eat iron-rich foods along with foods that provide plenty of vitamin C, your body can better absorb the iron.

Just in case anyone needs it...

Don't forget fortified cereals. Iron is hard to get if you shy away from red meat (I personally eat a lot of chicken and fish). Fortified cereal usually has 25-50% of your daily iron requirement in one serving. I eat Kellogg's Special K Red Berries personally. Also, daily multivitamins are good as well.

Edit*: Totally didn't realize that cereal was already on the list, thus nullifying my post. Whoops.
