Is there such thing as too much exercise? I seem to want to exercise all day. I wake up, do zumba for 45 minutes, go to the gym, take an hour class, and then do strength & work out on the elliptical & then i normally do more zumba before bed. I do this 6 days a week.

Yep...exercising can turn into a compulsion. I would try to cut down a bit, and make sure that you CAN stop. If you can't, I would go talk to someone.

    Good luck!

Yes there is. It's called "over training" and can actually have the opposite effect to the results you are looking for. How do you know if you're over training? Symptoms include: chronic fatigue or constantly tired feeling, excessive hunger or lack of appetite, disorientation, confusion, inability to sleep, restlessness, chronic sore muscles, irritability, easily frustrated, and depression. You may or may not suffer from all of these symptoms at once so it's important to keep a health/fitness/wellness journal that you can reflect back to once a week to see if there are signs you might be missing. Of course it's also important to write how you feel (energetically speaking) in that journal to help you keep track.

However, in your case, it sounds like you have an overabundance of energy. Might have something to do with being as young as you are, or it could be that you have an awesome metabolism or lots of nervous energy that only settles after copious exercise.

Wow! Can I borrow some of that energy?

You might be overdoing a bit. Take at least another day off during the week so your body can recover.
  • I wish I had that energy and time!

yeah there definately is, I was rushed to the hospital last Saturday, I did about 35 minutes of cardio, 45 minutes of racquetball, and worked out with a personal trainer for about a half hour. I didn't drink enough water, and I was dehydrated. It was pretty scary though.
