i like to have short term goals as the end point seems too far away.

Losing weight means we will run faster.

Marathon season is upon us with london and Boston marathons in 5 weeks time. Far enough away to lose something worthwhile but not too far away to make it seem unmanageable.

So what is your marathon? How much do you want to lose by then?
Perhaps we can support one another not just with diet but also training/ taper?

I am doing London and would like to lose 4 pounds by then.

I already ran a marathon and perhaps I'll run one again someday...just thought I would bump this post. Good luck with your weight loss while training! Ironically I found it a lot harder to lose weight when I was training, but that was before I found MFP  My running speed has already increased considerably since I've started here. Again, good luck with training and weight loss!

It's funny how the barriers change
When I first did a 10km I thought it was miles and miles but then when I had done that it didn't seem to bad. Next was 10 miles which seemed mammoth and so it goes on - a slippery slope!
