I am 5'2" started out at 146.5lbs and now 5 weeks later am down to 139.3lbs. OK so i use my HRM when i work out only. RIght now i am doing the 6week 6pack and its about 30mins i burn about 230-300 calories depending on how hard i get into it. At the gym i usually run 1.5 mile at around 5.0 and burn about 250 calories, i then do the aerobic setting on the elliptical for about 50min and burn about 750 calories. My heartrate is usually between 150-170.
Question:
Is the calorie burnt correct? It is way higher than what mfp tells me and the elliptical machine only says i burn about half of what my HRM says? I am confused...
Please HELP

Hey
Sounds like your doing well with your workoutsand well done on your loss! :-)
I also have a HRM and I think most people on here would agree that you should go with what your HRM says - whether it behigher or lower than MFP says.. Provided it asks for your sex, weight, age then its the most accurate way to know how many cals you burn...
Closer than MFP which I assume is goes by averages, and gym equipment.
In saying that though, beofre I got my HRM I was entering what the gym equip said I burnt, and I did still lose weight!
Well done and keep goin!

Have you changed your weight settings in your HRM? A 7 lb loss is quite a differnece, I would think that would make a little difference on the calories burned. (With less weight, you'd be burning less calories!)
I just purchased a HRM, so I can't really comment on the preciseness of it, but I did notice the extreme difference in my HRM, my machine reading, and the MFP calorie guesstimation.
Out of the 3, I would assume the HRM has the most accurate reading because it is taking in account your age, height, weight, and your actual HR.0 -
Yep i changed the weight as i went down. So, i guess i am burning lots of calories YAY. I am happy with losing 7 lbs! Thank you everyone0
