I'm frustrated this morning after getting on the scale and seeing a 1 lb. gain for the second time in under 10 days. Seems like i'm on a roller coaster ride these days...somebody hit the power!!

I started this journey back on November 11, 2010 weighing 167.5 lbs. This was 3 lbs less than my highest weight ever & I did not want to go back there ever again! Here's my most recent journey:
Dec. 23rd I was down to 163, on 1/12/11 I was down to 160 then:
1/22: UP to 162.5
2/11: DOWN to 160.5
2/20: UP to 163
2/26: DOWN to 160.5
3/2: DOWN to 159.5
3/8: UP to 162
Today: UP to 163 again. What the heck is going on?!

I WILL say, I tried a "spike" day on the 9th and made the mistake of blasting my sodium out of the water with that (lesson learned) then had a dinner out on the 10th that was pretty high sodium so I'm sure a lot of that is fluid retention BUT, looking back at old logs of my diets and weight loss efforts from the past, I see this pattern throughout my history, going back as far as 1999.

I do measure my body and see very slight changes but nothing noteworthy. I know sometimes I don't measure at the exact spot as before so my measurements even tend to go up and down slightly so I can't even trust the tape measure.

I have not worked out at all in the last two days because I'm so frustrated. I'm going to work out today, in about an hour but wanted to post this just to get it out there and hopefully somebody can offer me some suggestion that can put a stop to this roller coaster ride.

I have been there! I feel like I have been on a roller coaster for 2 years. I am happy, then bummed, then happy, then pissed.
Keep at it, tho, don't get discouraged. Keep doing the best you can and you will see results eventually.

My journey has been similar. Down then up down then up...My suggestion: Hang in there!! If you can, work out every day, and make sure you're eating your exercise calories - so that your body doesn't go in to the dreaded "starvation mode" When I'm having a "WTF I'm up?" kinda day, I do my fav exercise (running) and look to my friends for support.
Hope you feel better soon!

How many times are you workin' out? Are you doin' Cardio - do you have some strength trainin' in there?
How is your Sodium intake? - Are you eatin' alot of fastfoods, processed foods, junkfoods? Your diary is not public so I can't tell what you are eatin'? Are you drinkin' your 8 cups per day etc?

Maybe try workin' out more - push yourself a little harder...change up your meal plans...

    best wishe xo

Diaries are tools for you to use and if you are asking others for help they need to be able to see what you have been doing. It is impossible to give someone directions in the dark!!!!! It is impossible to give advise if we don't know what the problem(s) are. If you are asking for help, please open your diary so we can be as helpful as possible.

also are you weighing at the same time of the day each time? the best time to weigh in is 1st thing in the morning after you have went to the restroom and before you do anything else. and what are your measurements doing???? remember the tape measure is your friend.

You hand in there girl.. I was doing the samething as I told you earlier. Up your cardio just 15 min. something different and it helped me ALOT. and eating 5-6 times a day is really important too.. Change up your routines EVERYDAY.. you have to shock your body.. make it think WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? My body now is saying get off your *kitten* and do something.. LMAO.. :) Hope that at least made you smile.. :) Have a good workout today and I will be thinking about you on the Treadmill.. Going now.. bye bye.. :)

Same boat.. although I am losing about .5 lb a week, I find that I fluctuate within a 3lb range at any given time. I'm going to try mixing things up a bit.. varying my cardio workouts, adding more strength training to see if that helps.

I'm working out 7 days a week now...started at 3 and have worked up to 7 (I'm loving the energy after my workouts!) Anywhere from 60-90+ min. each time. I do mostly cardio because I want to focus on losing the fat before I spend a lot of time toning. I do Zumba and run on the treadmill. There IS a Zumba CD that I use called Sculpt & Tone but the weights are so light it doesn't do a lot of toning. I'm planning to use heavier weights when I feel like I've made enough progress with the fat loss to spend some time on toning. I drink PLENTY of water, low cal juices and diet green tea. Over 2 quarts of water before anything else.

Sodium is fine except for this past week when I ate out. I don't eat junk food at all. Lots of fruit, veggies, fish, chicken, brown rice etc. I eat healthy. Am I not working out enough?

I never do the same workout two days in a row. It's very frustrating. I know.
