I tried Mrs. Butter-Worth's Sugar Free pancake syrup this morning...YUM! It's only 35 calories for 1/4 of a cup...which is a lot of syrup for me.

:drinker:

I love pancakes!!!! My husband and daughter hate it when I buy sugar free syrup though... I don't mind it at all. I should try this one and see if they like it better...but who cares right?? Any ideas for low carb, healthier pancakes??? :flowerforyou:

Oh yeah--that stuff is good! It's got to be from the devil though it's so good!

I usually use about 1/8 cups on some homemade french toast--but heck, I could drink it straight from the bottle if I thought I could get away with it! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

Oh but WARNING! Sometimes sugar-free stuff results in {bathroom issues}, so be careful until you see how your body reacts.! Sugar-Free syrup is usually ok with me but the sugar-free candy and ice cream  = sitting on the toilet rest of day.

Big pancake lover here...actually just made some for breakfast this morning! We do the non-dairy pancakes though because my son has food allergies. So we use Rice milk and applesauce to substitute milk and eggs... YUM!

I am trying to remember the brand name of the sugar free syrup I buy. I'm drawing a blank. BUT it's in a container that looks like caramel (you know the caramel for your icecream).. it's in a container like that lol.

    But it's gooooooooooooooooooooooood stuff!

I also make french toast .... with wheat bread, egg beaters, cinnemon and some skim milk, spray calorie free butter and sugar free syrup.. good schhhhhtufff :)

In response for your quest for a healthier pancake, here is something I posted in response to another post a couple of days ago:

"Lately I've been making something I call protein pancakes and they're delicious and very filling! Just make 1/2 cup of oatmeal, and once that's made add about 1/2 cup of egg whites (and banana or another type of fruit if you like), and cook them in a pan like a pancake. I dip mine in a little bit of no-sugar-added maple syrup. This breakfast is really low in fat and sugar, but is full of protein and healthy carbs to start your day!"

I haven't tried it myself but I know there are recipes for using cottage cheese to make pancakes. Seems like that would be lower in carbs...

I am so obsessed with pancakes...that I have official assigned pancake days in my house. I could post for hours on how much I Iove them topped with fresh fruit and a tiny bit of Lite Ms. Butterworths. A way to my heart...seriously...a pancake. Oh yes, it's that bad. :X My mother here could vouch for me on this...I could totally be the head of "Pancakes Anonymous." I have always...hokay, almost always had control of this obsession. I am working through it, slowly, but it is definitely an item I have to have witnesses monitoring me when I cook them. YUM!

I'm with you Princess! I am a total pancake nut! When I make them I will make the whole batch and freeze them for the kids to pop in the micro for breakfast.

Also, I have found what I was searching for! A YUMMY HEALTHY WHOLE GRAIN pancake! I've tried recipies after another and they all suck, and taste like cardboard. BUT......... Kodiak Cakes are the best! They are made with whole wheat and oats, 130 Cals and 1 g fat for 2 4in pancake. My kids love them. I made them for a bunch of guys who don't eat healthy and they thought they were great! Anyhow, glad to know that I am not the only one obsessed with pancakes, I could go on forever!:love:

I like French toast better but pancakes are good, too. BUT, if I'm going to eat them, I eat them--not healthy stuff! Well, on the French toast--if i make it myself--I use whole wheat light bread. But otherwise, it's the real thing! BUT, I seldom do that and I only eat one or two when I do.

South Beach has a recipe for pancakes with oatmeal, egg and cottage cheese. Also a bit of nutmeg and vanilla. My kids and I really like them. I don't know what the calorie count is.

Thanks for the tip on the syrup, will have to get some!

We really like De Wafelbakker's pancakes (and waffles, but the pancakes are awesome). They were on sale here the other day when I went grocery shopping and I picked up a bunch of boxes. My son really likes the Sweet Potato Cinnamon ones. I like the Berry ones. They don't even need butter or syrup or anything! They're made with whole grain flour, flaxseed, all kinds of good for you stuff. And they're all natural (at least that's what the box says). 140 cals for 2 buckwheat berry pancakes, with 6g fiber! Yum Yum Yum. I highly recommend them if you're looking for something really quick to throw in the toaster in the morning.
