it's been too long since i've had a burger and darn it imma eat one because i've earned it. so with that said i was thinking of eating one without the bun or does it really make a difference. then i thought i could just eat half of one. and would it be so horrible if i put mayo on their as long as i stick to the serving size and it doesn't blow my cal out of the water any suggestions?

I have hamburgers once a week.
I take 4oz of lean ground beef, form it into a patty, and stick it on my george foreman grill. For the bun, I either use light wheat bread (35 calories a slice), a sandwich thin (100 calories for whole bun), whole wheat bun (120 calories) or I wrap it in lettuce. For toppings, you can use light mayo, low sodium turkey bacon (25 calories a slice), ketchup, fat free american cheese slice (25 calories), onions, tomato slices, lettuce, etc.
My usual go-to hamburger is 300 calories total:
4oz 96% lean ground beef (150 calories)
2 slices schwebels lite wheat bread (70 calories)
1 slice fat free american cheese (25 calories)
2 slices tomato (10 calories)
1 slice turkey bacon cooked (25 calories)
2 tsp light mayo (20 calories)

I have them once or twice a week, but only homemade. I either grill it on the george forman or toss it in a skillet. I eat it without the bun and just season it well so i don't need to add anything to it.0

My take is that - calorie wise - you can eat anything you want as long as you meet your target calorie count goal. My calorie target is 1750 - so I could eat 1750 calories worth of snicker's bars if I wanted. But it wouldn't keep me full and it would not be good for me. But hey - sometimes - a fully loaded burger is good and ok. Just gotta fit into your overall goals.0

I agree that homemade is best as you control the ingredients, serving size and the way it's prepared.
There is nothing wrong with having a burger especially if it's homemade and not from a fast food establishment.0
