I have a big fear that when I lose my weight that my body is not going to look right without tucks or surgery...I have nothing against them but I would never have the money for them....
Here is my stats...
Highest weight: 210
Starting Weight: 206
Current Weight: 198
Goal Weight: 150 By my wedding in march 6,2012
Ultimate goal weight: 130
Height: 5'1
I'm giving myself over a year to lose my weight....What can I do to make sure that I don't have to have tucks or surgery???? I'm new with all this...do yall think I will be okay...any comments is welcomed!

What routine are you doing? Try power 90, p90x or insanity. I also had GREAT results with slim in 6! Good luck to you!0

Right now I do two 40 min workouts on my ellitpical trainer...next week I will be up to two 50 min workouts...then the week after that I will be up to 60 min workouts...after i reach my two 60 mins workouts I will tart uping the resistance...also starting next week I'm starting to jog...I will each week work my self up to a mile! I'm always adding things to my workout...no two weeks are ever the same!!!0

strength training is the absolute key! All that cardio is going to burn a lot of fat, but the strength training will tighten up all that extra skin that you'll get. Good luck!0

I have the same fears as you (my starting weight is 227 - goal weight is 130 ) - discussing it with my doctor and he said the following - the older you are the less elastic your skin is going to be so you kinda have to wait and see. When it comes to the money for the surgery - you'd be surprised how doctors can help you have insurances cover it. That's what mine said.
Also recommendations that I've heard help:
-Losing weight at a realistic rate (note: dropping the weight dramatically and quickly causes the body stress plus it does not have time to adjust)
-toning and strength training (though according to my doctor - it doesn't tighten skin but makes your body firm, instead of thin & flabby)
-eating healthy foods, water, etc. (obviously this helps because it means your skin is healthy too )
Good luck in your journey.0 -

Look into the slim in 6....it has cardio along with strength training, the strength training is the most important part. Or make sure you incorporate 20 minutes along with your eliptical. So do squats, lunges and plies (I cant spell it, lol) If you JUST do the cardio you wont tone that skin, which is what you are afraid of correct?0
