treadmill and ankle weights

OK, I go to the gym and hit the treadmill three times a week (or at least I try). I enter my age and weight and it gives me a calorie burn number. However, i also wear 6 pounds of ankle weights.
How would that effect my calories burned total? I would think it should be higher, but don't know how to calculate it.

A heart rate monitor will keep the most accurate count of calories burned. HTHs!0

I have read that ankle weights aren't good for your joints if you're doing any exercise with impact. If you're just walking at a slow pace it's probably fine but jogging or running would definitely not be good.0

I set the treadmill at 3 mph for 60 minutes.0
