So how bad is a low carb diet?

So what do people think about the low carb diets? I recently started mine again, and am having pretty good results. (It also helps that I like meat lol). I was wondering how important it is to track calories on the low carb diet? I'm not gonna go eat a 1500 calorie beef patty, but it seems to me that watching the carb intake is more important with this than actual calories, as long as they are staying at a reasonable level. Or am I completely mistaken?

Depends on how low you want to go....i think its a bit of a quick fix...i used it to start , but have since moved to a 30%carb 40% protien 30% fat diet...this with mederate cardio and weight training seems to work for me.

You need to still track your calories.....and watch sodium levels....a pure meat / protien diet in my opinion isnt a good idea.....and make sure you take a heavy duty vitimin to make up for all the things you arnt getting anymore.

I'm doing atkins and it's working. I try to fill the carbs I allow myself with vegtables. I feel great. I did learn that I still need to keep an eye on calories to loose weight. I eat between 1,300 to 1,800 calories per day.

It's best to do it like a red day in slimmers world if you are limiting carbs you still have to have some carbs but you weigh and count everyone of them. In my first few weeks of doing that diet a couple of years ago I lost 10lbs and over a 9 month period I lost 3 stones. Remember though it's a hard one to keep at especially if you like a variety of foods and I find MFP a better one to adhere to.

I tend to eat way too many carbs in general, but when I just started incorporating much more fruit and veggies in my diet I lost - and quickly. I think all meat isn't good. Just keep it balanced and have "good carbs" vs. "bad carbs".
