Should you weigh your meat before or after you cook it?

    before.. i use a scale and always add raw in the search to ensure that I get the correct info

    id say both lol bcos the meat reduces after cooking :)

    unless the packaged says the serving size is cooked, I weigh mine before cooking. Don't really know if that's right so would love to hear what other people have to say.

    I almost always weigh it before I cook it as I'm pretty sure the nutritional info given on most of the packs is based on the uncooked weight.

    The only time I don't do that is when I have cooked a roast - then I have to weigh it cooked after carving.

    I always weigh out after, because that's what the people that run the program at the Hospital say to do to insure that we get the proper nutrition out of it. You will be surprised how much it actually shrinks when cooking, my wife cooked some porkchops and they shrunk from 15 oz down to 8 oz and we need to eat 6 oz of lean protein each day
