Ok I posted this earlier, but I wanted to repost with some pics. I added some pics to my profile of my abs standing and bending so you know what I mean. I spent an entire year working my abs in everyway I know how and every way I've seen. Nothing works. They wont firm up ever since my c section. It's like they firm in spots which makes them look deformed when I bend down. When I try to work them it's like parts of them feel almost numb and it's hard of not impossible to use those parts, so I end up compensating with either my sides or my back. Has anyone else ever experienced this after a c section? The c/s was 5.5 years ago and I still have numbness and pain around the scar. Also 6 days after the c/s I had pulled a muscle right around where you see the demple in the pic. IDK if that could also have something to do with it? Any ideas would be great.

I think your belly looks fabulous, but I know what you mean. I have a horrible flap because of being overweight before getting pregnant, and then having two c-sections. Did you see my blog earlier? pretty much an inch below the belly button down to the pubic bone, my skin looks like pizza dough. I'm afraid the only thing that will fix it for sure (other than another 15lbs I'm not willing to lose) is a tummy tuck. :(

the only photo i see of you bending, doesnt show where you scar is?. I had a c-sec last august and I was told that the numbness may stay forever. I have a weak muscle to the right of my scar that i've suffered from for years and been to the hospital in the past due to vigorous exercising. I never once thought that I would have horrendous cramps and pulls from it especially after the op.

I feel i'm getting there now and i've been having weird sensations above my scar where it was numb and i'm slowly getting feeling back. But i doubt i will get it all back

My scar is on my bikini line

i have had 4 c sections....3 bikni and 1 up and down....by looking at your pictures i am figuring you had a bikni...that is the easiest cut to get your belly back with-so i have been told.....have you asked a doctor or trainer? after my 3rd child i really got into dieting and excersie that is when looked my best(other than before babies) I was also 35 at the time....I wonder if it has more to do with age then c sections sometimes? I think you look fabulous....I hope i can get to wherer you are someday ...i seem to lose everywhere but my belly:(

I don't think age has anything to do with it

How tall are you? if you don't mind me asking as you look quite tall. photos can be deceiving
  • Thankseveryone for your responses! I don't feel so scared about it now. I am 34 and I am 5'8.5" tall. My c/s in a bikini cut. I gained 57 lbs. with the pregnancy that caused all of this damage. I'm glad I'm not alone. I was beginning to worry. I've asked my ob/gyn and he acts like I'm immature for thinking I can every get my old body back and for even wanting to. I will ask my GP. He's a lot nicer. I'm happy with my abs, just miss how solid they used to be able to get. I really appreciate all of you guys' feedback!
  • girl, I would LOVE to have your abs! LOL! but I've always heard that Pilates is almost as effective in toning and tightening as a tummy tuck :) and RevAbs is designed for the same... I know what you mean though, you work hard to get results and still don't get them--hang in there!

  • Thanks. It helps knowing that it is probably from the c section. I don't know but somehow that makes it seem more worth it.
