Has anyone ever tried this or know anything about it? I know someone who swears by it, but would like to hear more from others if anyone is willing to share.

Really I have not thought about that. Does it help with weight loss?

I suppose you could lose a couple of pounds of stuff that was trapped inside, but other than that...not weight loss help. I just wouldn't mind a fresh start (literally) to help with my constipation and bloat issues.

Nothing gets "trapped" in the colon. The body just _doesn't work that way_- if you have "stuff trapped in there" then likely you need to be hospitalized because blockages and festering bacteria can cause major problems. The only time you want it "clean" is when you go to the doctor to have something done that requires it or if you want to indulge in anal sex and want it clean. You MIGHT loose a few ounces from losing whatever fecal matter might have been in there- but you'd lose that anyhow in a day or so when you go to the bathroom anyhow.

You mean you DON'T go #2, so to speak, every few days? Somehow I thought everyone did and that's what I was talking about. If you don't have a bowel movement every day or two you might want to see your doctor about that or eat more fiber...

You could do a "colon cleanse" or you can wait until you naturally have a bowel movement- the results are the same unless your brain is having a good old time riding the placebo effect.

As someone who has to take enemas because of medical problems - do not do it to try and lose weight. Its a waste of time, not good for your digestive system and unnatural.

The best route to weight loss is a healthy diet and exercise and not fads like diet pills or enemas!

i did a natural whole body ( liver and colon) cleanse that i purchased from whole foods. it came with tons of fiber pills, to take four in evening and four in morning, the liver pills to take one at night the first week and then one in the morning as well the second week, and the natural laxative stimulants, to take three at night ( big no no for my body) the first week then two at night the following week.

in all honesty it was alot to remember on top of my other daily vitamins that i already have a hard time remembering to get in. But other the literally running to the rest room for the first few days i think it was a waste of money. I would think that drinking lots of water and clean eating would do the job just fine.

    guess you live and learn.

I specifically said it wasn't for weight loss help and actually my friends who swear by it lost more a couple ounces when they did it. Please if you don't know what you're talking about, don't give answers...especially condescending ones that aren't helpful and no one wants to hear.

It is hard to know what you will consider condescending, but I'll give it a shot. A colon cleanse is completely unnecessary. The colon takes care of itself and issues that can't be taken care of by eating more fiber and drinking more water probably require a doctor's attention.

I'll chime in here. Hopefully you will consider that I DO know what I am talking about since I am a physician and BryanAir is absolutely correct. There is absolutely NO good reason to do this. There are no medical benefits, you do not lose true weight although the scale will read a little lower due to emptying it of feces that will return as soon as you eat. There is risk of becoming dependent on enemas/laxatives if done too often, risk of causing electrolyte imbalance, colon perforation etc although the latter would be very rare.

AGAIN PEOPLE... I was not inquiring about it FOR WEIGHT LOSS! GOOD GRIEF. There seems to be problems with comprehension for some people here. I just wanted some info on it.
