So after today I will have been dieting for 1 week. To this point I have lost 10lbs, and I am suprised that much has come off in a week. Is it common to have a big weight drop right off the bat, and does the weight loss tend to slow down after that?

depends on how much you weighed to start with.......most of that is water weight lost

It will slow down. Glycogen in the liver holds the water. Once it has worn out it will slow down to 2-4 pounds a week - max. More is unrealistic and unhealthy. So.. don't get too exited weight loss takes time. Keep on good work.

I have been on MFP for 3 weeks, and dropped ZERO pounds, what is your secret? I am eating 1200 a day give or take 100, biking 30 min a day, 5 lb weights for upper body 3x a week ( I am over 60), can't seem to drop an OZ!
