My Canadian husband was warned by lots of people when he moved here that the food would be bad, he says that is a massive lie and that the food here is considerably better than he had in Canada a lot of the time, I think this story comes from the American servicemen based over here during the war, we had rationing and the food was bad. Also we had rationing right up until the 50's. The worst and most unhealthy food I ever ate was in the States, when we got home the whole family were desperate for a decent meal, we craved a full English and a nice roast dinner with some vegetables...after all, it was you guys invented fast food. Burgers and KFC,:drinker:

Haha! True! We are the foremost leaders in chemical and processed food-like-substances! Not to mention the 99 cent 1000 calorie meals! We make it cheap AND easy to be fat!

I totally agree that it is cheap to eat badly in the states, we found that to eat well we had to go to high priced places and that we could eat a lot for a little almost anywhere, I can see why it is such a difficulty when people post on here that they are eating out and want healthy options. Also things are made differently in the States, you are right about the processing etc, I found it impossible to buy nice cheese in Florida, we didn't like the bread as it tasted sweet and also the chocolate is horrid...sorry!

I don't eat red meat and I struggled in Canada to find a vegatarian option in many places they didn't have one at all!
