walking for thighs/hip area

i walk on my treadmill (usually on an incline) for 30-45 minutes in afternoon and then another 30-45 at night daily. i've just boosted up to twice a day about 3 weeks ago. (been dieting/exercising since January 8th) anyway, i'm losing and getting noticed that i'm losing but i can't seem to get rid of my thighs and hips. my question is, if i keep walking daily, will that help make those slim down? (maybe i'm too impatient?) i use my treadmill at home because i don't have the time and money to go to a gym so that's the best for me to do and i'm also committed to it (actually look forward to exercising and i NEVER thought i would say that!). any advice on the thigh and hip area? got a beach vacation coming in 3 months.......want to wear a bathing suit withOUT shorts over it.
