Just an FYI for anyone planning to fly anywhere....
We flew 3 airlines on our trip. Continental out to Oregon, Horizon/Alaskan from Oregon to CA and then Delta from CA back home to CT.
Delta was by FAR the worst experience of the three. They were rude, our flight was delayed, we had to wait on the runway once back at JFK for 40 minutes before getting a gate, we then had to wait another 10 minutes to get our stroller where we had checked it at the gate when the other two airlines had it waiting for us when we got off the plane. Then it took 30 minutes for any luggage to begin to arrive. They offered NO food. You can purchase food and when we tried to get an orzo dish to feed my son, we were told it was 8$, we only had $6 on us...and their credit card machine was broken. Also, when my son fell asleep and I asked for a pillow, we were told "We don't do pillows" by the flight attendant. The other two airlines not only had pillows but one rushed to get one for me after seeing my son had fallen asleep.
Oh and they broke the handle of my pully suitcase....so while my husband had gone outside with J.T. to call our car shuttle to get to where we parked, I lugged Petes bag, the carseat AND my 35# bag that is supposed to be able to be rolled out to the sidewalk.
Just wanted to let you all know. I apologize if any of you are affiliated with Delta!! :laugh:

I have just returned from a fortnight's hol in your lovely country, in Minnesota staying with my son (British)and daughter in law (American) who live there and I flew with Northwest Airlines.
They were brilliant, lovely staff and good flights. I will use them whenever I can get over from now on (not that often ..can't afford it!....
)

By the by, 2 weeks of the wonderful choice of food and drink in the Statesand being on hol has not done my weight any good...put back on 3 lbs...:grumble: oh well back to the calorie counting:ohwell:0 -

Must agree. Just flew Delta for the first time from LA to Orlando. Nothing particularly terrible, but just not great service. Alot of airlines are stopping food service, free movies and all that. It is crazy how much you pay to fly and how little you get.0
