Breaking up calories...

I think I already know the answer to this, but how does everyone break up their calories? Do you prefer to save more calories for dinner, or break them up evenly throughout the day? I find that I use more for dinner, and I think that could be an issue. I have read it's best to eat small meals throughout the day.

Any thoughts on how you do this?

I aim for meals of around 300 calories, but I snack constantly anyway.

I usually try to save most of my calories for the evening so I can have what feels like a "full meal" and maybe a small dessert and still be at or under my calories.

I have a habit of getting hungry every 2 hrs, so I eat a little when this happens. It just happens to work out well for me, 150-200 calories each. The past couple weeks have been tough, I eat more than I need to during this times, then eat a big dinner. I go over calories that way.

Many folks have found it good to eat 5 times a day, about equal amounts each meal. It doesn't matter if you eat more earlier or later, as long as you burn more calories than you use, you will lose weight.

See, I prefer to eat my calories in the evening as well. I find during the day it is easier for me not to eat as I am busy with work. I have read different things saying that you shouldn't do it this way and others that say it doesn't matter.

I eat very healthy and often have to work at it to get in all my daily calories. I read a long time ago that people should follow the following:

    Eat breakfast like a king
    lunch like a prince
    and dinner like a pauper

Since I've been doing this I am never hungry as I start my day out with a good healthy breakfast, and by eating light in the evening Im not going to bed with a full stomach.

If Im starving in the evening I will have a piece of fruit but always try not to eat at least 2 hours before bed.

I try to try to have my big amounts of calories in the morning for breakfast and dinner time. Lunch is my super healthy, low calorie meal. If I have a good breakfast im not as hungry. Then around dinner I am usually hungry for a "meal" so I make sure I beef up my meals with extra veggies and stuff. My boyfriend is great at beefing up stuff with veggies when he cooks (I dont cook LOL).
